Tuition Funding for MAME Members

DETAILS:

  • The purpose of this fund is to supplement a MAME member’s cost in pursuing a post-baccalaureate or master’s program in education.
  • Up to $3000 will be allocated to this fund each year
  • members may apply to a maximum of $300/person (three or six credit hour course) 
  • Executive members may apply for up to $300/3 credit hour course or $600/6 credit hour course, up to a total of $900 per school year 
  • Some or all associated costs (materials, textbooks, online materials) may be funded, depending on available funds
  • Up to $300 for a 3-credit hour course is available based on available funds 
  • Executive members may apply for up to $600 if registered in a 6-credit-hour course



CRITERIA:

  • Applicant must be a MAME member.
  • If applying for executive tuition, the applicant must be a MAME member for a minimum of one full academic year
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply at least two weeks prior to the start of the course. Applications will be considered if you are currently enrolled or planning to enrol. No applications will be considered if the course has been completed. 
  • If applying through divisional/school/other funding, the  applicant must use divisional/school/other funding first and then access MAME funds
  • Members may only access one funding opportunity a year (only able to access PD funding, special project, or tuition)
  • Members/Executive cannot apply for the same type of funding for two consecutive years (for example, if they applied for a special project grant, they cannot apply for a special project grant the next year, but can apply for tuition or PD funding)



PROCESS:

  • Applicants must complete the “Application For Tuition Funding” by April 15th  if the course runs from September to June. If course runs during summer months, applications must complete the “Application for Tuition Funding” by May 31. 
  • All receipts must be received within 20 working days of the completion of the course and the release of grades
  • Funding will be granted based on criteria and at the discretion of the committee.  The first vote will occur on or after September 30th of each school year, and then ongoing as applications are received. 
  • Applicants will be reimbursed for funds upon completion of the course once the following are submitted
  • A blog article for MAME, which notes any particular strategies/techniques that other multi-age teachers would be interested in hearing about, or an article that summarizes the activity. 
  • Original receipts that are submitted to MAME
  • Transcript that shows completion of the course (an unofficial transcript is acceptable)
  • “Tuition Funds Reimbursement” form filled out completely
  • Photocopied receipts for funds that were accessed through another organization (school/division) – if necessary
  • Copy of reimbursement form used to access funds through another organization (school/division) – if necessary
